Tea or coffee? Milk and sugar?

Interesting cup design… should save some time telling others what you want especially in a busy working office. I think the tea lady would like this as well… [Hat tip to Swissmiss]

Snail is the slowest living creature beside turtle and we never even imagine why such creature being used as a name for this micro induction heating system. Electrolux Design 2010 Finalists Snail relies on a high density sugar crystal battery as energy. The cooking system uses power to heat up coils in order to conduct the food heating process in the utensil using the magnetic induction. Built in heating detector sensors are available to detect the type of food you’re cooking, time and get the temperature accordingly. The portable cooker has a touch sensitive display and it can be used with two or more Snails at once. It’s definitely great as I can even make my noodle in a glass or even turn my coffee hot at an instant. Still I can’t figure out why Peter Alwin the designer of this great prototype Snail as the capability of heating is really fast. Perhaps the shape looks like a Snail, but the speed it’s just one special extra ordinary Snail it is

Perhaps it’s due to the world population that right now it’s the spring time of the youth. This project by Ascanio Afan de Rivera is called Stroller Bumbel. It is a great new transportation to get your baby from place to place. Designer Ascanio Afan de Rivera has noted that baby stroller throughout the years has only come into a few phase of change and so he decided something new.
This stroller adapts very well, although it’s not as multi function as the one I’ve previously seen. The modern stroller can fit into 0 – 2 years old baby, once they can sit, you can turn it back into sitting position, and not to forget, it is equipped with shades as well. The mechanical system of this stroller works on an 11 piece system which can be folded into several different forms as well as collapsing down into a smaller size trunk.

Im a veteran when it comes to traveling with kids and I know the nightmarish times I went through every time I ventured out. Cranky, jet lagged babies + luggage management is horrid combo. Try pushing a buggy and pulling your trolley bag at the same time! Dreadful! Good folks at Castiglione Morelli have an ingenious idea with their Samsonite Convertible Trolley Stroller Bag. A specialized compartment holds in a folded fabric, which when pulled out, stretches over the pull-out metallic frame; thus resulting in a child seat. Very Convenient.

Although it’s not the royal flush, TOTO, the Japanese toilet makers created this interestingly hi technology toilet. It’s often Japanese products which always come with unique idea where they often combine their advance knowledge and stuff it in into all their products. This is the new model introduced by TOTO’s on Salone Internazionale Del Mobile. The designer of this new model isn’t a Jap. Stefano Giovannoni the Italian designer has designed this simple and modern style with all technological advances stuffed into this toilet. It’s not you which will be taking care of the toilet, but it’s the toilet which will be taking care of you. This toilet ready to spoil you with heated seat, deodorizer and remote control function, self cleaning washing, Tornado Flush, revolutionary rimless toilet design, and CeFiONtect coating for keeping it clean and hygienic. This toilet is the combination between Italian bathroom concept with the Japanese bathroom culture and technology. Isn’t it so much for a toilet that can take care for your bum right? It surely be a nice addition if you want to change yours

artist juliana santacruz herrera has transformed the streets of paris through her visual intervention
using braided strips of colourful fabric. seeing the many cracks and potholes of the city as
the 'canvas' of her project, the site-specific pieces are a playful addition to the grey urban setting.

long lengths of dyed fabrics are braided and then coiled into the shallow breaks in the street.
often made up of a combination of bright colours, the resulting effect creates a graphic and
visually-arresting contrast to the city's palette.

the 'opus eleven', designed for harry winston by denis giguet, founder of the swiss watchmaking firm MCT,
showcases a puzzle-like architectural mechanism that explodes and reassembles the numerals of the hour every sixty minutes.

the case of the 'opus eleven' is composed of white gold, while sapphire-crystal domes protect the three overlapping cylinders set at different levels together show the time. the main circle displays the hour through the watch's unusual movement,
in which four gears, on each of which six pinions hold a placard segment of a numeral, spin and orient themselves
so as to together depict the hour. the mechanism remains static during the course of the hour, and springs to action after the fifty-ninth minute, in a matter of split seconds, destroying the old hour and assembling the new.

the circular section to the upper right of the hour ring displays the minutes, via an inner jumping disk to show the tens and an outer running disk to show the units. the watch's final circle to the lower right renders visible
the titanium balance-wheel, the weighted piece that effectively drives the ticking of analog watches.

the movement of the 'opus eleven' contains 566 components, including 155 jewel bearings.
designer denis giguet estimates that the assembly takes a watchmaker four to five weeks to complete.

produced in a limited edition run of 111 watches, the 'opus eleven' sells for approximately 250,000 USD

israeli industrial designer nir shalom presents his canine prosthetic as part of 'thinking hands',
an exhibition in ventura lambrate at milan design week 2011. the device attaches at the hips of
small dogs with disabled rear legs and allows for increased mobility over other dog wheelchairs
due to the dynamic and more independently moving supports.an elastic knee joint is set backwards, allowing dogs to access stairs and lay down and sit up on their own.

still in a prototype stage, the 'amigo' - fabricated out of aluminum, molded plastic and custom
padding with durable rubber wheels - is constructed on a per dog basis to ensure a proper fit.
